Frequently Asked Questions
-
How long are sessions and how frequently will we meet?
Sessions are 45-55 minutes depending on your insurance benefits. We will meet at the same time once a week. There is an option to decrease or increase the frequency of sessions over time if appropriate.
-
How much do sessions cost?
My full fee is $175 for 50 minute sessions. A sliding scale is offered for those in financial need and who do not have Out-Of-Network benefits .
-
Do you accept insurance?
I am in network with Aetna and United Healthcare. I am considered an “out-of-network” provider for other insurance carriers. Many insurance plans cover out-of-network costs and will reimburse between 50-80% of the cost of sessions. I am happy to help you navigate the out-of-network process by providing a step-by-step instruction sheet and a receipt for each session to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
Where do sessions take place?
At this time, my practice is entirely virtual. I use a secure, HIPAA compliant Zoom account. Please know that you must be located in New York State, Connecticut or Georgia at the time of sessions, as these are the only states that I am licensed in at this time.
-
Is online therapy as effective as in person?
Online sessions can be as effective as in person sessions. To get the most out of your online session, it is important that you are on time and have access to a private, quiet space without distractions. I recommend reserving a few minutes after session to decompress before resuming your day.

What can I expect from my first appointment?
In the first appointment, we will work together to create a whole and accurate picture of you. I will explore your history, your immediate concerns in the present, and your hopes for the future. Opening up to someone new is difficult for most people, so I want you to know that what and how much you share with me during the first appointment is entirely up to you. I will meet you where you are at, and we will identify goals for treatment together. I welcome you to ask questions and express any feelings you may be having about therapy during the first appointment and at any point throughout our work together.
